Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), based out of Arlington, VA, is a national association representing more than 24,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms in 78 chapters across the United States. ABC's membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry.
Each year, ABC presents its Construction Awards of Excellence and this year, Nashville’s Downs Electrical Constructors, Inc. and Gould Turner Group (GTG) were awarded for the Cedar Park Regional Medical Center project.

Downs Electrical Constructors, Inc. was founded in March 1980 by Mr. Ira Downs. Still the president today, Mr. Downs maintains his original goal to form a company that specializes in electrical installation for industrial and healthcare facilities. With over 44 years of experience, Ira, along with his veteran management and supervisory team, continues to meet and exceed the customers' needs. Today, Downs Electrical Constructors Inc., is one of the nation’s leading electrical contractors. Their motto is, "To Build It On Time And Under Budget".
GTG, also founded in 1980, has grown under the leadership of President, Linda Marzialo, AIA, ACHA. as one of the nation’s premier planning, architectural, and interior design firms where the focus is healthcare, education, and commercial architecture. GTG’s team of architects and support staff work with facilities across the United States on projects that range from renovations and additions to campus master plans and new facilities.
