Outpatient Center and Urgent Care Facility

Summit Medical Center Outpatient Diagnostic Center and Urgent Care Facility is part of the TriStar Health System and provides full-service emergency care to the residents of east metropolitan Nashville / Davidson County and Wilson County.

The objective of this project was the development of a facility that would bring quick and convenient emergency care services to the area's outlying community, and would relieve capacity increases at the main medical campus, due to the population growth of the area. Strategically located at the convergence of Interstate 40 at Central Pike & Old Hickory Boulevard, this project was designed within an existing multi-story medical office building, and encompasses a ground floor emergency care center and an imaging center.

The Urgent Care Center includes six examination/treatment rooms, a screening/interview room, and a radiography room.  A separate women's diagnostic center and imaging center are located adjacent to the emergency treatment suite. The women's diagnostic center includes rooms for ultrasound, mammography and bone densitometry. The imaging center houses a CT scan, shell space for a future MRI, a nuclear medicine room, a stress test room, and an R/F room. The facility design allows for the separation of emergency care from the diagnostic center while maintaining the adjacencies and ease of patient flow to the required areas for treatment.

The interior design presents a calm and professional appearance through the use of wood finishes and soothing colors. Materials and fabrics were also selected for their durability and appropriateness of use.
