Barefoot Republic Camp is a summer camp dedicated towards nurturing relationships between individuals from diverse racial, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds through an equally diverse platform of artistic, athletic and team-building programs. In 2015, Gould Turner Group was approached to provide a schematic design of Barefoot Republic’s new lodge that looked to expand upon the undersized existing facilities to meet the ever-growing popularity of this charitable camp.
The design incorporates a large central gathering space open to an exterior patio and firepit with hotel accommodations, communal space, and an expanded kitchen/serving area. The lodge strives to be a welcoming first impression as campers enter the area while accentuating the existing style.
Probono conceptual design project by the Emerging Professional Group with Firm Leadership.
Design intent focused on community, public spaces, entertaining, and a welcoming camper environment for youth and adults.
