This 155,400-SF, three-story addition at Kingwood Medical Center was designed to house women’s and children’s services. The first floor of the addition includes eight high-risk antepartum suites, 12 labor and delivery suites, 24 Level II and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care beds, two C-section rooms, and four triage positions. The second and third floors house 36 post-partum beds, a well-baby nursery, a 14-bed pediatric unit, and 22 medical-surgical beds. The tower was designed for future vertical expansion.
This project also included the renovation and expansion of admitting, administration, the chapel, gift shop, and dining, as well as the design of a new freestanding central power plant. Site work included parking expansion and landscaping.
