Memory Care of Westover Hills
San Antonio, Texas

Project Facts

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Size: 43,370-SF
Market: Healthcare/Senior Living/Memory Care
Services: Architecture and Interiors
Scope: New Memory Care Facility

Completed for Memory Care America and Embree Healthcare Group, the Memory Care Westover Hills design encourages residents to be physically active and socially engaged.  The project’s program is intended to meet the ongoing needs of post-acute and memory care patients who have Alzheimer’s and other dementia diseases.

The 45,370-SF facility conveys a residential appeal and houses 64 beds – 50 of which are private, and 14 of which are double occupancy.  Features, such as personalized shadow boxes outside residents’ rooms, lighted handrails that guide residents from their beds to the toilet at night, and areas of respite with fireplaces, add special touches. The design provides ample spaces for dining, music and social interaction, exercise, and faith-based activities.  Two enclosed courtyards allow residents and their families to enjoy the outdoors in a secure environment.

Memory Care of Westover Hills is anticipated to be the first of several new projects for Memory Care America, an affiliate of Texas-based Trident Healthcare Properties, and Embree Healthcare Group.
